Marvel with the help (and accusation) of Disney was able to create a strong portfolio of super heroes movies that connected to each other in a crafty way. After Iron Man who is played by Robert Downy Jr. was a successful hit, their was no stopping the MCU train after that.

The quest for the Infinity Gems which changed to Infinity Stones for the cinematic universe was a brilliant idea to use in the movies which turned every casual into a comic book fan, and comic book fans into movie goers.

If you are new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), below is the complete order of movies (From a Story/Timeline Point of View) from the beginning to Endgame. And for those looking to add to their collection of movies, this guide will help you to collect them all.

Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Introduction to Steve Rogers, the first Super Soldier and Avenger. We get introduced to the Tesseract, also known as the Space Stone.

Captain Marvel (2019)

Carol Danvers, born on Planet Earth was exposed to the Tesseract (Space Stone) which gave her amazing abilities. Trained by the Kree, she has become one of the most powerful warriors in the MCU. We also get introduced to Nick Fury.

Iron Man (2008)

Tony Stark is a billionaire playboy who sells military technology and weaponry. When his life became threatened, and his country was in trouble, he had no other choice to become Iron Man. This is the movie that started it all.

Iron Man 2 (2010)

The world knows who Iron Man is and Tony Stark continues to adjust to his new lifestyle as Iron Man.

Thor (2011)

Thor is the son of Odin and has been cast out of his home world Asgard. He ends up on earth for the first time where he learned humility and to become a humble servant to people, instead of himself.

The Incredible Hulk (2008)

Bruce Banner is a brilliant scientist who is on the run from the US Government. The Hulk emerges for the first time in the MCU and we learn about the Super Serum that Steve Rogers took. Also a guest appearance from Tony Stark.

The Avengers (2012)

Earth’s mightiest heroes featuring Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man and Thor team up for the first time to take on Loki and an Alien invading force. When the dust settles, it’s the mad titan Thanos who is pulling the strings, in a plot to acquire all Infinity Stones.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

After saving the world from impending doom, Tony Stark faces a new challenge as he takes on an imposter who calls himself the Mandarin. In the midst of this chaos, Tony Stark builds and improves upon his existing tech.

Thor: The Dark World (2013)

Thor’s girlfriend Dr. Jane Foster get’s cursed by the Aether, also known as the Reality Stone. Thor take’s on Dark Elves to not only protect Asgard, Earth, and Jane, but to keep the universe safe.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

Steve Rogers is adjusting to his new life after being asleep for 70 years. He is also  getting used to his role at S.H.E.I.L.D. He later discovers that his best friend Bucky Barnes is alive but not the same man he once new.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

A new team of intergalactic criminals are formed to take on Ronin The Destroyer and his plan of using the Power Stone to take over the universe.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

The story is mainly about Star-Lord and his father as the team work’s on staying united.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

The Avengers take on Ultron who was born out of Tony Stark and Bruce Banner’s dormant peacekeeping program. We get introduced to Vision who is powered by the Mind Stone and Black Panther. In the end credits, Thanos pulls out the Infinity Gauntlet.

Ant-Man (2015)

We get introduced to Hank Pym and Scott Lang who plays the role of Ant-Man.

Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Our heroes are forced to enter a registration where they are tagged and monitored by the government. Some heroes are not having it and causes a split, which then leads to war. Spider-Man and Black Panther join the battle.

Black Panther (2018)

Wakanda is known for it’s vast technological power and it’s Vibranium. Other factions want it and another want’s the throne. T’Challa has a big responsibility as king of Wakanda to own it’s status, and embrace the world.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

Sony share’s studio rights with Disney to give the MCU it’s first Spider-Man movie. Peter Parker is getting used to his role as Spider-Man as he faces off against the Vulture.

Ant-Man and The Wasp (2018)

After the events of Civil War, Scott Land is under house arrest. Though the circumstances aren’t the best, Ant-Man teams up with The Wasp on a new mission that involves saving Hank Pym’s wife.

Doctor Strange (2016)

After a terrible car accident, Doctor Strange receives physical and spiritual healing and learns the mystic arts. In this movie, we are introduced to the Time Stone.

Thor: Ragnarok (2016)

Thor must protect his home world Asgard from his evil sister Hela. In order to do so, he must escape the prison planet named Sakaar. Along side of the Hulk, Thor must succeed or is people shall parish.

The Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

In this biggest super hero mash-up in history, the Avengers once again assemble to take on the mad titan Thanos as he quests to gather and unite all six Infinity Stones. Thanos goal is set balance to the universe by eliminating the population by half.

The Avengers: Endgame (2019)

The final chapter to phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the surviving heroes fight to revive their fallen friends and to defeat Thanos once and for all. While Thanos holds the power of the Infinity Stones, our heroes must devise the ultimate plan to defeat him.
